Dr. H K Green
Dr. Homer Kenyon Green was born in New York in 1848. He was a dentist in Titusville before coming to Spartansburg sometime before 1890. He offered dental services in his offices on Mechanic Street, East Main Street (in a home that burned in 1903), and West Main Street. He assisted dentists in Titusville during this time as well.

This advertisement ran for several weeks in the Titusville Herald in 1893 and 1894.
Note that he will refund rail fare on large orders of false teeth.
Dr. Green was married 3 times. Elizabeth died shortly after their marriage. Catherine and Homer had 1 child, Lelia, and were divorced. His marriage to Flora lasted until his death and gave them 3 children. They were Thomas, Hazel, and Albert. Flora died in 1928.
Dr. Green was active with social and fraternal organizations in Spartansburg. He was chosen to be Secretary of the IOOF (International Order of Odd Fellows) in 1892. He was a member of the Knights Templar in Corry. Dr. Green served as W.M. (Worship Master) of the Free and Accepted Mason Lodge 72 in 1903. W.M. is the highest office in the local Lodge. Dr. Green also served in community office, having been chosen “collector” in the 1893 election.
Dr. Green practiced dentistry and cared for the needs of the Spartansburg community for over 30 years. He died on September 14, 1919 and is buried at Rose Hill.
