Service Organizations

Spartansburg had several military organizations, as well as groups who met during wars to wrap bandages and to collect needed items. Many raised money community and worldwide projects.

American Legion and VFW posts were active in town.

Social Organizations

Social gatherings for small groups of ladies ranged from knitting and sewing circles to card playing and religious studies. Men participated in the band, hunting clubs and political groups.

The Grange was both a social and a service organization.
